The Articles of the Confederation

hi

The Articles of the Confedration set up a one legislature called the congress.  Each state could send between 2 and 7 delegates to congress. The Articles let states have limited power such as have there own army.

The weakness of the articles were that congress ahd no power to taxs people, to enforce laws, no executive branches, 9 out of 13 states had to say yes to a law for it to pass and the congress couldnt force the states to meet military quotas.

The successes of the Articles were freedom of religon, property rights and you have the right to be trialed by a jury.

In my oponion the Articals helped the Declaration of Independeces because of the good things that came out of the Articales of the Confedration such as the freedom of religon which was a big thing because of all of the diffrent religons today
