Majority rules is when more people vote for somthing then not vote. When you vote for somthing in class it is majority
rules.
Checks and balances is when diffrent powers in govrnment decide on a law and it goes throught diffrent stages. For example
when a vote is trying to pass.
Separation of powers is when powers are split up between diffrent groups. like the President and vice president.
Federalism is when the state and the govrnment share power. like when the state and the govrnment make a law.
Popular sovereignty is when the govrnment is at the will of the people like in the civil war.
